Caster wedges have been used by VW from the early 50's for cars that wandered in the wind or did not have enough caster from the factory. At least one set was a must if the car was to be driven over 75 MPH. Some cars are manufactured by VW that may have the minimum allowable caster. What this does is allows the car to wander as the speed gets higher or more than normal in a cross wind. People that lower the front end of their car, raise the rear end, or both, will aggravate this situation even more. I have seen lowered cars that were almost impossible to keep in one lane at 60 MPH. Some vehicles require more than one caster wedge just to get back to stock and even more to make it safe at 100 MPH. You may need one set of our 3.4 degree and one set of our 2.36 degree. This all depends on the amount of lowering and the maximum speed the car will reach. By adding the proper amount of caster wedges, you tip the beam out at the bottom and increase the caster to eliminate wandering. It is impossible for anyone to guess what "your" car needs. We strongly recommended that the caster be checked before ordering to determine what you actually need. Note: 2 GB 681 caster wedges that are 2.36 degrees are about 5.9mm thick and use the factory 90mm bolt. 3.4 degrees are about 8.6mm thick and use GB 681B 100mm long bolts.
